Experienced global CEO with over 30 years in the Information Technology and Telecoms (IT+T) sectors.
Jim was most recently the Group CEO of BAI Communications Ltd for a period of seven years. During this time Jim delivered double digit growth in BAI’s home market, as well as growing the international business in New York, Toronto, Hong Kong and the UK by generating new services and revenue streams in mobile communications, Internet of Things, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence applications. Under Jim’s leadership BAI became a global leader in large scale transit communications, at the same time reducing costs in the core businesses and improving service levels, customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction.
Prior to BAI, Jim was at National Broadband Network (NBN Co), the Australian – government owned company tasked
with designing and building a national high speed, high capacity broadband network. At NBN Co Jim established the team, agreements and negotiations with over 180 telecommunications companies and service providers together with Australian Competition and Consumer Commission approval to sell NBN Co products and services. With a $53bn capital outlay, this was the largest infrastructure program in a generation in Australia.
Jim has held senior roles at Sun Microsystems, (including 7 years as Managing Director for Australasia) where he led the business after the Year 2000 tech sector crash to a 55% growth in revenue and a 411% growth in profit over a four-year period. He has also worked for IBM (12 years) and at Pitney Bowes (2 years).
Jim is a dual UK/Australian citizen, has lived and worked in Australia, UK, Denmark and France and has extensive experience of working in the US and Canada.
